American Roots Music at Willapa Hills Farm

Can You Hear the Music?

American Roots Music has arrived in the Willapa Hills! Willapa Hills Farm is a working family farm and creamery located in the coastal hills of Southwestern Washington. Since moving to our century-old farmstead in the Willapa Hills in 2005, we have dreamed of filling our historic gambrel barn with music and dancing. An annual barn dance with family and friends has inspired us to increase the prominence of live music and dancing on our farm and in our lives.
In Autumn 2017 we embarked on this new adventure with the introduction of our first Second Thursday American Roots Concert. This once-a-month event is showcasing local and regional Roots Music artists in a unique and intimate “Listening Room” – the loft of our century old gambrel barn. Participants in these family-friendly events will enjoy a variety of traditional music styles – some with a contemporary twist, but always rooted in the varied musical traditions of America’s past.
This fall we plan to start a monthly Contra (or country) Dance in our barn. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for information on Second Thursday Roots Concerts and to keep appraised of plans for our upcoming barn dances. We will also be sharing sharing artists and music we love – and if we are lucky – a few of our favorites will join us in the Willapa Hills in the coming months and years…
